Difference between Secondary Meristem and Lateral Meristem

SECONDARY MERISTEM	LATERAL MERISTEM
It is distribute all parts of the plant.	It is observed in lateral parts of the plant.
All secondary meristems are not lateral meristem.	All lateral meristems are secondary meristem.
It helps in repair and healing of wound at injured site in plants.	It helps in thickening or increasing width of plant.
It observed in all types of plants.	It is only observed in dicot plants.
It is localized.	It is not localized but continuous on lateral side.
It is originated from matured or differentiated cells.	It is originated from both primary and matured cells.
